Drew Dedelow from Independence Realty Securities LLC will provide an overview of the 1031 exchange process while discussing the benefits and risks associated with both traditional exchanges and their alternatives. Specifically, Mr. Dedelow will address the challenges of identifying replacement properties and diversifying sales proceeds and will explain how 1031 securities structured as Delaware Statutory Trusts (DSTs) can help property owners overcome these and other issues.

Igor Zhizhin from American Street Capital is a Chicago-based boutique commercial real estate finance advisory firm with correspondent lending relationships specializing in securing balance sheet and CMBS loans for small balance income producing investment and owner-occupied properties.

Also presenting is architect/instructor Tom Brock, who has just completed a great project with IIT students for building designs for the Howard Ashland site. He will be presenting the ideas his students have come up with in order to take a fresh look at the possibilities for this site.
