KISER GROUP’S RENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM – KMA Property Management Services Inc

Each month during 2021, Kiser Group will contribute $2,000 through its Rent Assistance Program on behalf of tenants in need to Chicago-area landlords or property managers for rent owed. Each month we will document how the money was allocated.

Rent Assistance Update

In the latest installment of the program, Kiser Group allocated $2,000 in rental assistance through KMA Property Management Services Inc. (KMAPM), a management firm offering services for market rate & affordable multifamily and commercial properties across Illinois and Indiana.

“The COVID-19 pandemic forced many people into difficult times, and it especially made it harder for anyone who was already struggling,” said Devin Rowland, president at KMAPM. “But, the truth is so many Americans are much closer to difficulty than anyone wants to admit. That’s why it’s extraordinary when companies create opportunities like Kiser Group’s Rental Assistance Program. With their support, we’re able to help a resident who was involved in a bad car accident. Despite the physical challenges she now faces, she still dedicates each day to helping others, and we’re grateful to offer her support during her time of need.”

“Kiser Group has several charitable initiatives, but given the economic hardships people face as a result of the pandemic, we sought a way to get money directly into the hands of those who need it most,” said Lee Kiser of Kiser Group. “We realized our clients would know those most in need of help with rent, and we are grateful for KMA’s participation.”

KMA Property Management Impact Story

After receiving the $2,000 rental assistance allocation, KMA shared the following update:

The full $2,000 was given to one resident in the West Pullman neighborhood of Chicago – a 52-year-old mother (six adult children) and grandmother (15 grandchildren!). In July 2019, she became a quadriplegic after a vehicle accident and lost her cleaning company because she could no longer physically work. However, she is also a certified alcohol and drug counselor, which she can do from her wheelchair. She keeps her certification up to date, but during the pandemic it has been difficult to find work, so she fell behind on rent. KMAPM is glad to provide this assistance with Kiser Group’s help, blessing a woman who has blessed so many through her life and work.
